BYD accelerates global rollout of its ultra-fast charging network

On October 31, 2026, BYD commissioned its first megawatt flash charging station in Hong Kong, installed in a public car park in Sai Ying Pun, and is targeting 100 stations by 2027. On the same day, the automaker announced an investment of several hundred million dollars in fast charging stations in Romania, with deployment expected within two to three years. BYD also appears to be commissioning a new generation of more powerful megawatt chargers. In early November, the company accelerated the rollout of its ultra-fast network and extended its flash charging technology to Indonesia, with a full charge announced in nine minutes, while the question of the impact on battery life is raised.
