Mercedes-Benz electric GLC: launch and US production delay

Mercedes-Benz presented the electric GLC in Japan, the first model from the manufacturer to use the MB.EA-M platform, ahead of launches and tests on several markets. In India, the SUV is sold in a locally assembled 400 4MATIC version, with a 94 kWh battery and up to 711 km of WLTP range, with deliveries starting in mid-November 2026. In the United States, Mercedes-Benz has delayed the start of assembly in Vance, Alabama, until May 2030, extending its reliance on imports and US tariffs. Sub-events also show positive reactions in Germany and a test drive in Belgium, while India becomes the fourth global production site for the model and the second kit assembly site after Thailand.
